Call for Abstracts

Homelessness Australia is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for presentation at the 7th National Homelessness Conference.

SUBMITTING YOUR ABSTRACT FOR A SESSION PRESENTATION OR POSTER

You MUST complete the abstract template, which will assist you in formatting, structuring and naming your abstract correctly through our online submission process.

To aid you with the process please remember the following:

Abstracts should be no more than 250 words, presenters biographies should be no more than 200 words (biographies of non presenting authors will not be published)
Abstracts must contain sufficient information to allow a delegate to establish what may be gained by attendance at the presentation.
Abstracts which do not contain sufficient information or are not in the template format provided WILL be rejected.
Abstracts are to be submitted via the Abstract submission area of the Conference Website.  If this is not possible, please contact the Conference Secretariat by email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to arrange alternative methods.

The body of the abstract should be arranged as follows:
a)    Aims and purpose of project (where possible in one sentence)
b)    Brief statement of how it was conducted
c)    Summary of outcomes
d)    Conclusions and recommendations
e)    Abbreviations should be given in brackets after the first full use of terms. 
f)    Foot notes and references should not be included in the abstract.

The 7th National Homelessness Conference will focus on the following themes.  Abstracts should focus on an area within these themes. Should a paper cover more than one theme, the Abstract Committee may consider it for one or all themes covered.

KEY DATES

Closing date for abstract submissions Friday 16 March 2012
Receipt of abstract will be confirmed within 2 weeks of submission.
Acceptance of abstracts will be notified by Friday 18 May 2012.
Non Acceptance notified by Friday 25 May 2012.
Presenter registration closes Monday 4 June 2012.

Unfortunately no assistance is available for presenter travel, registration or accommodation expenses. All presenters will be required to register and pay for the Conference.
