Elizabeth Harper

is Regional Director for St Mungo’s Community Housing Association Ltd; one of the UK’s largest and leading charities for homeless people.

St Mungo’s houses 1500 people each night in its supported housing and helps more homeless people into training and employment than any other UK homelessness organisation. its support focuses on health, relationships and work in order that homeless people are able to move on from homelessness for good.

Elizabeth started work in the homelessness sector in 1992, starting as a project worker in a client facing role and progressing through a variety of roles including hostel manager and group manager for supported housing before becoming Head of Performance in 2002. She has been Regional Director, leading St Mungo’s national expansion since 2009.

Elizabeth has lead responsibility for the development of the outcomes star at St Mungo’s and it’s role in supporting practice.

Mike MunroPicture of Mike  Munro

Mike Munro began his career as a journalist in 1971 as a 17-year-old copy boy on The Australian and The Daily Mirror newspapers. After completing his cadetship he remained with the Mirror for seven years before joining Sydney’s Channel 10 News in 1978. Eleven months later he returned to newspapers and was posted to New York by Rupert Murdoch to work in News Limited’s American bureau and The New York Post.

He went on to become a household name in Australian media as feature presenter in such programmes as Willesee, 60 Minutes, A Current Affair, This is Your Life and Missing Persons Unit.

Mike is perhaps is best known for his candid interviews with such stars as Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler and Katharine Hepburn on '60 Minutes', for his ground-breaking and provocative reports for 'A Current Affair' and for the "honest raw emotion" of 'This Is Your Life.'  This Is Your Life had not been out of the annual top 10 regular programs for all its six years and averaged a national weekly audience of more than two million viewers.

His autobiography, A Pasty-Faced Nothing, which documents his journey from a childhood of poverty, degradation and abuse to acclaim and popularity was released in 2003. Mike retells this inspirational story, entitled "The Power of Vision" to all manner of audience.

Mike currently co-hosts Channel Seven's current affairs program Sunday Night.

Marai Larasipicture of Marai  Larasi

is the Director of Imkaan, an award-winning National second tier organisation dedicated to challenging violence against Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) women and children. Imkaan is widely known for its innovative research and its strategic advocacy and lobbying work on behalf of the BAMER women’s sector.

Prior to joining Imkaan in October 2009, Ms Larasi was the Chief Executive of the nia project, a London based charity which provides a range of services for women, children and young people who have been affected by gender violence. She held this position for 9 years.

She has worked in the Violence Against Women (VAW) field for over 15 years. At the nia project she led cutting edge programmes which addressed gender violence within marginalised groups and communities. She is committed to ensuring that services are developed, delivered and sustained within a framework which is grounded in a strong gendered analysis.

In addition to her role at Imkaan, Ms. Larasi provides independent consultancy services in the areas of organisational development, change management and equalities and diversity. She also produces expert reports in legal proceedings with specific focus on domestic violence, honour based violence and forced marriage as well as advising on other areas of Violence Against Women.

Ms Larasi is a dynamic and inspirational public speaker and has led and delivered presentations to multi-disciplinary audiences covering a range of themes relating to gender, violence against women and children, women’s homelessness, and equality. She has worked locally, nationally and internationally, engaging with a broad spectrum of individuals and groups from senior government officials and policy makers to local commissioners.
